Globally looked up Indian musician,AR Rahman arrived in Qatar on the 22nd of March for the lucky fellow’s residing in Doha to experience once in a life time moment, AR Rahman along with his 80 strong troupe engaged the audience with a performance which took over the audience’s heart at Khalifa International Stadium and took each and everyone in a state of trance,it being the biggest concert in the history of Qatar with the footfall over 30,000, throughout the three hour-long concert.
Rahman, a two time Oscar and Grammy-winner stole the gathering’s heart with some of his evergreen records.
The performance included Rahman’s beautifully composed and sung melodies which took the venue for FIFA 2022 World Cup on another level.
Performances had a rich and unique blend of Indian languages and genres as The maestro was joined in the concert by popular Indian playback singers Udit Narayan, Shweta Mohan, Haricharan Seshadri, A R Rahman’s sisters and popular singers from the South Indian film industry Reihana and Isshrathquadhre, playback singer from the Malayalam film industry Alphons Joseph, Bollywood playback singer Javed Ali, singer and actor Benny Dayal, Indian film score composer Ranjit Barot, Rahman’s troupe singer Dilshad Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh and Indian-born Canadian singer Jonita Gandhi.
Earlier, before the formal start of the concert, there was a special performance by renowned Qatari composer Dana Alfardan and Doha’s emerging artist Aisha, who presented a tribute song honoring the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Written by Dana Alfardan, the song is dedicated to the Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019, a year-long collaboration that sees both nations jointly celebrate their unique cultural legacies.
Rahman appeared on the stage in a glittering silver and black-colored jacket to thunderous applause.
Rahman started the concert with his latest popular compositions from Hindi and Tamil songs.

Khalifa International Stadium pitch turned into a giant 90-metre-long stage with 80 artistes performing live simultaneously, a first of its kind experience for many in Doha.
Large LED screens were put up around the stage to ensure the audience got a memorable up-close view of the maestro.
The crowd witnessed Rahman’s magic and delicacy with innovation in every sphere of music as the artist is also known as the God of experimentation in his world.
Each of the performers came out with something exciting which was welcomed with loud cheers by the entire audience.
The concert was organised by Katara Studios in association with Qatar Airways.
