Humidity expected to increase, MET warns of poor visibility

Relative humidity is expected to increase until weekend due to a shift of prevailing wind direction to easterly with a chance of misty to foggy conditions in some areas at late night and early morning causing visibility to drop below 2 km at times, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said in a statement.

Temperature is expected to drop as maximums are expected to range between 36 to 41°C in most areas of the country. QMD urged everyone to be cautious during foggy conditions.

In its daily report QMD said that the weather inshore, until 6am on Thursday, will be relatively humid and some clouds, misty to foggy at some places by early morning, warning of poor visibility at some areas by early morning.

Offshore will see some clouds, becoming misty to foggy at places later, the report added, warning of poor visibility at places later.

Wind inshore will be mainly northeasterly at a speed of 04 to 12 knot, becoming variable less than 04 knot later.

Offshore, it will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly at a speed of 03 to 12 knot.

Visibility will be 4 to 8 or 2 kilometer or less at places by early morning.

Sea state inshore will be 1 to 2 feet. Offshore, it will be 1 to 3 feet.
