Indian musicians to hold series of shows in Qatar

As part of the Qatar —­­India Year of Culture-2019, a three-member Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) cultural troupe will be staging a series of performances in Qatar to mesmerise audience with their musical symphony.

Comprising interactive narrations through innovative rhythmic dialogue on percussion instruments, the musical event will feature acclaimed musician Debasmita Bhattacharya, considered as one of India’s finest young Sarod (an Indian string instrument) players; Sangita Bhattacharya, who will be playing another Indian string instrument called Tanpura and Debajit Patitundi, an emerging avid tabla player.

They will perform at 7pm tonight at Katara Cultural Village Building 16 in a concert dubbed “An Evening of Hindustani Instrumental Music” presented by the Indian Embassy in partnership with Katara. The second performance will be tomorrow at 7pm at Ashoka Hall of Indian Cultural Centre held in partnership with the Indian Cultural Centre.

Finally, they will perform at Dukhan Cinema in Dukhan on Wednesday at 7pm at a show to be staged by the Embassy in partnership with Indian Society Dukhan.
