The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs opened 8 new mosques during the month of Ramadan in five areas in the State, in the framework of its plan to meet the ever increasing population in the country.
The ministry said that it opened three mosques in Raudat Al Hamama, a mosque at the old airport, a mosque in Bo Sedra, 2 mosques in Umm Al-Sinaim and a mosque in Azgawa, all of which can accommodate 4,239 worshipers.
The eight mosques, which were designed according to environmental and heritage standards and attached by the homes of Imams and Muazens, as well as prayer halls for women, and other facilities that serve the pioneers of the mosques.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced before the month of Ramadan that it has opened 65 new mosques in different areas this year, and is preparing to receive other mosques in the coming months.
