Over 200 firms to participate in Milipol Qatar

DOHA: Over 200 local and international companies will participate in the Milipol Qatar 2018, the International Exhibition of Homeland Security and Civil Defense, which will start on Monday at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

The three-day event will bring together experts and specialists on internal security, civil defence and public safety sectors, decision-makers and leaders to meet under one roof and review the latest security solutions. The companies which are participating in the 12th edition of the Milipol Qatar 2018 are representing more than 25 countries around the world including France, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Spain, the Ministry of Interior shared the information on its social media platforms.

Along the main exhibition, a number of sideline conferences and seminars are also scheduled in which leading security experts from around the globe will share their knowledge and expertise with the participants.

“Pleased to welcome Prefect Nicolas Desforges, Former Interministerial Delegate for Major Sporting Events, French Ministry of Urban Affairs, Youth and Sport as a Milipol Qatar speaker,” Milipol Qatar tweeted on its official Twitter account.

Milipol Qatar also announced that Steve Kemsley, Director of Security and Emergency Services at Atmaana, and Michael Bourton, Managing Director of Rightstone, will also speak at the event.

The event is organised every two years in Doha. More than 230 companies from 35 countries participated in the 11th edition of Milipol Qatar 2016. Also, 246 official delegates and 183 journalists attended the event in the same year.

Meanwhile, Major General Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani (pictured), Chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee, announced in a press statement that Stark Motors and Eshhar Security Services would be the Diamond Sponsor of Milipol Qatar 2018.

Major General Nasser bin Fahd Al Thani said that internal security and civil defence are among the cornerstones of any country and that Qatar is a leading country in the field of security and pays great attention to this system to ensure and enhance its security together with our leading national companies.

Mohammed Al Ali, owner of Eshhar Security Services and Chairman of Stark Motors, said: “The holding of this distinguished exhibition contributes greatly to encouraging progress and development in our beloved country, Qatar, for its security and safety technologies. The event also hosts seminars and discussions rich with global experience and information.”

He added that the exhibition represents a natural reflection of the growth witnessed by Qatar in recent times in all sectors, especially the security sector. The participation in this exhibition is a good opportunity to get to know the international companies and a means of presenting products of different companies. It will be an occasion for the competent establishments and authorities in Qatar to learn about the latest security equipment and safety solutions in the world.
