Over 1,000 delegates from more than 25 countries are attending the Education Conference 2019, inaugurated by HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani on Wednesday at Qatar National Convention Centre.
The event is a scientific platform to share local, regional and international experiences in the educational field, official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries including ministers and other guests.
Addressing the conference, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Mohamed Abdul Wahed al-Hammadi said Qatar achieved advanced scientific rankings in the Arab region and the world in education, thanks to the continuous support of the wise leadership and guidance from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the efforts of the students and those working in the education field.

The Fourth Annual International Education Conference, described as one of Qatar’s biggest educational events of the year, has educators and administrators deliberating over two days under the theme ‘Education Makes a Difference’.
HE Mohamed al-Hammadi explained that the Ministry of Education aims to make a real difference in the educational process, stressing that it has achieved in this context a qualitative leap in the formation of the curricula and was able to implement them at the beginning of this year with no delay.
Education in Qatar is being developed through scientific research, internal and external debates, local and international scientific competitions, as well as continuous participation in seminars that are of interest to the educational process inside and outside Qatar.
The minister pointed out that today’s universal language is technology and Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Education has kept up with the technological development.
All possible care is given to students. Specialised schools are set up, and a high-tech track in the secondary phase is helping students compete in technology, engineering and math industry.

HE Mohamed al-Hammadi said the ministry was keen that the topics discussed at the conference by experts, researchers and educators would focus on facing the challenges of the current phase.
He explained that the conference will discuss the local and global trends in the development of the educational process and quality management in education which must be sought to achieve education efficiency as stipulated by the vision of the ministry in providing permanent and innovative learning opportunities and high quality for the Qatari community.
“The other focus of the conference will be promoting the concept of identity, its preservation and defending it, as identities are currently being attacked around the world”.
