THE Souq Al Wakrah beach is now open for families to spend their leisure time with amenities especially designed to cater to people of all ages.

Visitors can safely swim under the watchful eyes of lifeguards or just relax on the beach. When feeling hungry, they can select from a wide variety of cuisines at the nearby restaurants.
The beach is open from 10am to 6pm.

Although the beach project has not yet been fully completed, all basic amenities for swimmers are available.
Souq Al Wakrah Manager Khalid al Suwaidi told Qatar Tribune recently,”People can come and enjoy swimming here. We have set up changing rooms and shower facilities just steps away from the beach. We have also arranged lifeguards to ensure safety of swimmers.”
The soft opening of the beach was done over a month ago.
“We were testing the facilities that time. Now, we want families to come and relax. It will need more time to finish the facilities as we aim to include more activities at the beach,” he said.

The beach is attracting a large number of families during weekends. Souq Al Wakrah authorities expect more families at the beach when the weather becomes favourable.
Suwaidi has praised the beach’s location saying that visitors can get anything they need at the beach owing to the presence of a variety of shops and restaurants in the vicinity.”Visitors can do shopping and enjoy a variety of food items while at the beach. They can virtually have anything they need,” he added.

Samir, a visitor at the beach, said: “This beach is really nice and facilities are good. It’s not easy to find changing rooms at a public beach, but here things are different. I have had great fun at the beach with my family.”
