Doha: Summer in Qatar (SiQ) will kick off on June 4, with shopping promotions and attractive retail offers across nine participating malls. Shoppers looking for a good bargain just before summer vacations can enjoy up to 70 percent discounts at participating retailers along with a chance to win cash & car prizes worth QR2m.
Starting from the first day of Eid Al Fitr, discounts will be available on a range of consumer goods including clothes, electronics, cosmetics, and accessories for men, women and children. Malls will be offering fun for the whole family through a host of exclusive in-mall entertainment and roaming shows throughout Eid and the summer.
Mashal Shahbik from Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), commented, “Shopping is an essential part of tourism and with support from our partners from public and private sectors, we work to shine a spotlight on the country’s burgeoning retail offering.†She added, “Summer in Qatar has been carefully curated to offer special offers for the bargain-hunter and the style-savvy while also affording visitors and residents of all ages and interests various opportunities to join in celebrating this special season in Qatar.â€
The malls participating in this year’s summer fun include Doha Festival City, Mall of Qatar, Lagoona Mall, Landmark Mall, Gulf Mall, Tawar Mall, Al Khor Mall, Hyatt Plaza, and Al Mirqab Mall.
For every QR200 spent at any of the participating outlets in these malls, shoppers can be part of the three raffle draws being held throughout the summer. Prizes include cash and cars worth QR2m, with a McLaren as the grand prize.
To enter the raffle draws, all shoppers need to do is register electronically once at a Summer in Qatar counter available in the participating malls.
The system will generate vouchers according to the amount of money spent with the shoppers details already printed. If shoppers spend QR200 or more during another shopping trip or in another mall, they can easily enter themselves again into the raffle draw as their details will be saved on the system.
To kick off its biggest ‘Summer in Qatar’ program, Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has announced a number of entertainment shows, Meet & Greet with popular characters and new attractions that will be open to public from the first day of Eid Al Fitr. Summer in Qatar is a nationwide program that celebrates the country’s family entertainment, retail, travel and hospitality offerings.
