As part of the ongoing Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019, Indian Embassy with Katara will be screening Hindi film “Tiger Zinda Hai” staring Salman Khan.

Indian Cultural Centre to stage Indian Musical Program

Indian Cultural Centre along with Keraleeyam Qatar will be conducting Musical Star nite at the Ashoka Hall in the ICC Premises.

This program is an effort from Keraleeyam to deliver all-time hit songs of Indian movies and also feature mimicry and dance performance during the evening.

Admission to this program will be free for all.

Islamic monuments of India exhibition

‘Islamic Monuments of India – An Exhibition’ is a part of Qatar-India Year of Culture-2019. A total 45 chosen photographs will be on display depicting various monuments in India.

From the 12th century onwards, Islamic dynasties had been set up in different regions across India.  Besides the well-known Mughal monuments, this exhibition presents several other exquisite monuments – mosques and dargahs of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kashmir and other parts of India.

DFI to screen musicals at MIA

Doha Film Institute has announced it will screen six award-winning musical films and two shorts at the Museum of Islamic Art Auditorium.

The film series, which revolves around the theme of ‘Rhythm and Flow,’ pays tribute to the evolving face of musical cinema with its bold interplay of music, dance and narrative.

The movies to be showcased are Summer Interlude (Sept 18, 2019), Birds in the Earth (Sept 18, 2019), La La Land (Sept 19, 2019), Dancer in the Dark (Sept 20, 2019), The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz (Sept 21, 2019), The Red Shoes (Sept 22, 2019), Ballet After Dark (Sept 22, 2019) and Lil’ Buck: Real Swan (Sept 23, 2019).

Tickets are priced QR35. Students and Qatar Museums Culture Pass members can enjoy discounted rates of QR25 per person. Tickets are available at DFI ticket outlet opposite MIA auditorium and at DFI website.

Zakreet Rocks Exhibition

The Zakreet Rocks Exhibition by artist Suhila Al Harip is being showcased at Katara Art Studio Building 19.

The exhibition includes a series of stones presented by the artist in a beautiful way, in addition to a set of Dolomite stone, which is a part of limestone.

The exhibition is presenting these rocks as accessories, stones and decor wrapped with gold and silver leaves.

Photo exhibition on Shanghai’s history

Seventy images showcasing pivotal moments in Shanghai’s history are on display at a photography exhibition at Katara in line with the 70th founding anniversary of China.

Chronologically divided into three sections, the exhibition titled “Moments in History, 70 Years of Shanghai” reflects the huge leap China’s biggest city has witnessed in various spheres of development in the past seven decades.
